Technology snapshot review

Scope: Whole school technology
Audience: Business Managers, Principals, School Executive

Technology snapshots are a review of your school’s technology infrastructure that provide a big-picture understanding of your current ICT environment to help inform decision making and future planning.

These reviews are designed to provide Principals, Business Managers and School Executives with an understanding of the state of the school’s technology and provide an idea of how your ICT environment compares to other schools.

Technology audit

Scope: Specific nominated technical area/s
Audience: IT Managers, Technicians

Technology audits involve a detailed audit conducted by a Senior Technician, with a granular focus on one or more nominated technical areas.

In contrast to the broader overview provided by a technology snapshot review, technology audits take a deeper dive into one or more technical aspects such as server backups, server shares and permissions, server redundancy & failover protection, user account management, and network equipment configuration. Your school can nominate which aspects you would like the audit to focus on.

Technology audits identify recommendations for changes and improvements for your Technical team to address.

In addition to being available as a standalone service, schools engaged with JTC Technology for contracted on-site IT support also receive technology audits as part of our services.

Asset Management

Our knowledgeable Technicians can assist your school in asset management by creating thorough records and conducting stocktakes, saving valuable time for admin staff.

As an independent party, our team can provide reliable data and make impartial observations, allowing your school to have a clear picture of assets and their condition.

Our two asset management services are:

Technology asset recording

Our team can establish an IT asset management system for your school to use, recording all IT assets in every accessible school space. Using barcodes or QR codes, your assets will be easy to reference for future stocktakes.

Technology asset stocktaking

Using the schools existing asset management system, our team can complete a stocktake, sighting IT assets and noting any missing or damaged equipment.

School Technology Standards

Our School Technology Standards provide schools with standards for key IT equipment and systems, helping to ensure a consistent and high standard for purchases, installations and configurations. Technology standards can be adopted ‘as is’ or customised for the school’s specific environment.

Standards GuideOverview of content
IT Support service delivery standardOur IT Support service delivery standard outlines a set of standards for how work will be conducted by Technicians at your school. Technical Staffing Recruitment Support

JTC Technology can support your recruitment process when hiring technical staff at your school.

Technical assessments of applicants

JTC Technology offers technical assessments that can be conducted for shortlisted applicants when hiring technology support staff for your school.
Our in-person technical assessments evaluate skills such as correctly identifying issues, researching solutions, attention to detail, ability to multitask, performance under pressure, ability to articulate actions taken as well as specific IT skills such as scripting and coding.

These assessments can be undertaken at our office or at your school.

Outsourced Technology Manager

Ideal for small-scale or smaller-budget schools who don’t have a dedicated IT manager but still need expertise and knowledge leading their IT team, a JTC Technology Outsourced Technology Manager can be a cost-effective solution.

Outsourced Technology Managers remove the burden from school executives to manage technical aspects which are typically outside of their skillset.

Working with one or more existing school employed technicians, Schools can receive help with big picture planning while having a technically focused manager being able to assess the technical capability of existing staff and provide them with leadership and mentoring.

As a part-time role at each school, your school can benefit from the Manager’s experience working across multiple sites.

This service provides regular on-site visits with availability to provide assistance remotely for questions or urgent matters that might arise.

Technology Infrastructure Plans

A Technology Infrastructure Plan is a multi-year plan that outlines a strategic roadmap for the future that aligns with your school’s technology goals.

Technology Infrastructure Plans typically cover a 4 year period and schools make informed decisions, stay on track to meet educational technology objectives, plan with a wholistic approach and budget for future needs.

In addition to being available as a standalone service, schools engaged with JTC Technology for contracted on-site IT support also receive Technology Infrastructure Plans as part of our services.

Educational Technology in the Classroom
